Loa and candidate visitation weekend

I have a LOA but not an invitation to a CVW......and I would really like to particiapte in a CVW.....what would be the best approach to try and secure an invitation?

I have sent an email to admissions, but no reply.......and I am assuming they are "underwater" right now at the height of the admissions process......

Is there a department within admissions, or within the USNA in general, that exclusively handles the CVW program that I should contact? Can a BGO help? Other ideas?

Is it too bold to request an invitation? I would like to go in January if possible....

Thanks in advance for any coaching......

Candidates often request an invite to a CVW. Nothing out of line there. Try to do so through your BGO. If he/she is non-communicative, give the Academy a call. Just one. Be brief and polite. Yes, they are busy, but part of their job is getting the right candidates appointed to the class. CVW is designed to help qualified candidates further decide if USNA is right for them.

rangelady hit it on the head.

and don’t read anything into the fact your email has not been answered. You will find USNA’s great forte is not administrivia, especially, as you rightly note, when in the middle of the battle.

Ask. Many have, do, will. It’s not being “too bold.” No negative points for chutzpah. And your LOA is hard, in-hand evidence that they see you as an ultimately desirable Mid-in-Waiting. Enjoy your visit.
