I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone getting a LOA from one academy and getting rejected from another? I’m just curious because I think getting one LOA has made me get a false impression of my chances at another academy.

I’ve heard of people getting an LOA at one academy and a prep school offer from another…

I know of a person who had an LOA from one academy and was “wait listed” by another.

Happened to me–LOA–appointment at USAFA. USNA, however, different story–have No idea why. Package completed early August, strong CFA, nomination in October, Triple Q’d, invited to CVW–rejection (this week). USNA had over 15,000 applicants this year–the most ever. Very tough.

I got a LOA in Janurary, and appointment in February, from USMA, but was waitlisted at USAFA (with nomination) yesterday.

I got rejected from AFA this last wednesday, then 2 days later received an appointment to USNA. I honestly put more effort into my AFA application. I’m very happy since USNA was my 1st choice.

ok, looks like it does happen. i thought all the academies were looking for basically the same things so i’m kind of suprized. thanks for all the quick replys!
