Isn't this generally what everybody does? I didn't even know about AP's before my junior year when I took Stats, now I feel like I'm behind everybody and need to take as many as I can to sort of 'catch up'. I'm planning my schedule for next year and this is all I have so far:

1: AP Physics
2: AP Calc
3: LA 12
4: Macro/micro econ at CC
5: Astronomy/College Writing
6:
7:

I feel like since my school doesn't offer AP Physics C: E&M, I should self-study that for one of my classes. I'm also debating whether I should take AP Chem or not, as Chem isn't really my strong suit. What do you guys think?

Chem is ridiculously easy, econ is self-study (why are you even doing it at a community college?). Also, I would brush up on my grammar before trying to take that many APs.

Don’t overload on APs for senior year. Colleges know people do that to “look good” compared to everyone else.

Take what you can handle. I dropped an AP class for next year because I wanted to take the classes that were relevant to my major and that I enjoyed, not what people wanted me to.

This (junior) year I have 3 APs, 2 honors, and an unleveled language class. Next year I will have 3 APs and 2 honors. Its senior year. Keep your work up, but don’t kill yourself.

First off HuaChing, AP Chem is NOT ridiculously easy. It is generally determined to be the most difficult AP course in high school. If it’s not your cup of tea, then don’t take it. You’re taking AP Physics anyways. And AP Physics will go great with AP Calc.

Also, you should also take an AP History and English course if you can. Definitely try to fit in an AP English course, writing is extremely important in whatever field you choose to pursue.

All of those are easy… I’m pretty stupid compared to the people at my school and I still ace my schedule which is 10x as difficult as your proposed schedule. Just take the hardest classes you can…

Don’t listen to Calvin. AP Chem is a complete joke. I got a 5 by just paying attention in class, doing ABSOLUTELY no homework at all, and not studying except on the way to the test.

wow yeah… those classes are so easy you should have no trouble… what are you even doing lol taking those in senior year, that was like my SOPHOMORE year schedule lolol and don’t say im just ‘smarter’, ive been diagnosed with a slew of mental disorders (schizophrenia, adhd, add, autism, down’s syndrome (on account of a transposed part of my chromosome 21 to my chromosome 14 or perhaps TRISOMY 21!!!~~~~), pneumonia, hiv/aids, sickle cell disease (EVEN THOUGH IM NOT BLACK roflroflrofl) etcetc.) and my LOWEST GRADE in those classes was a 99.63% (well it SHOULD have been 99.67%, but my teacher wouldn’t enter some extra credit because my grade was “so high it didn’t matter anyways”, what an idiot).

CCers are like the top 1% of all students. The average CCer self studies like crazy, is full IB or piles on APs, and still has amazing test scores/GPA. do what you can handle and what you’ll like.

My DS just pointed me to this thread because he thought it was pretty interesting! Well, I took a look at your plans, and, well… I have to say they’re pretty spiffy! Honestly, he did the same (well, except that was his junior year, and he took all APs/college classes–as far as I know, he took something like al-ge-braic topo-logy at his local community classes (well, I’ll be damned if I can spell that right–don’t know what it is, but it sure sounded hard)) and he did really well! Hey, I think you should really do it. I think you’re up for it and that you can handle it great! Don’t worry about doing poorly too, WITHOUT FAILURES, WHAT WOULD LIFE BE?

L O L (lots of love), and yours sincerely,

ViscountDad

P.S. This is one of my first posts on this site! I hope I’m doing this right! I’ve been reading these forums for years and my son LOVES to point out funny threads to me but tonight I decided, WELL WHY NOT POST?

On a more serious, non-trollage note, I think you will be able to handle them. I am also taking Calc, Both Physics C exams, and Chemistry. Just start working early and never give up. For me, chemistry is very easy, so I shouldn’t have much trouble with that, and Calc shouldn’t be too much of a problem either. The Physics C exams, however, will be quite a challenge. I would suggest maybe not taking all of them if they might all be “work at this all day or fail” kind of classes for you.

The AP Chem class at our school is not easy. A good number of the students who are usually the best at math and science are getting mid-Bs, which says something when three of them are self-studying Physics C. Then again, our teacher is retiring and likes to ■■■■■ us (just like the people in this thread)…

Take as rigorous of a courseload as you can handle.

im in the same boat as you . havent taken any APs yet but im taking College Pre-Calc and 2 more College courses this summer. (Stats and Chem since I never took it) .

Next year i’ll be taking
AP psych
AP Bio
College English
AP spanish
Advanced Health/Fitness 4 life (F4L counts as gym)

the rest are Honors classes and ill be taking Calc at Community college.

there are a bunch of APs to take at my school ( AP govt, APUSH, AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Environmental Science, AP English ) but im not taking them because they have nothing to do with what i want to major in (Pre-Med) . sure AP Chem is related to my major but that would just be suicide and i want to ENJOY my senior year.
