So- I have just enrolled directly in an undergrad degree program at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), which is ranked the top University in Asia, and even better than Brown University- whether it is exactly is not the point I'm getting at, let's just agree it's a legitimate institution -however, to quote directly from a member of the faculty I've been dealing with "HKU is no longer a participating institution for the FAFSA since summer of 2008 due to the differences in the audit requirement in the 2 regions."

The government in Hong Kong has got such a strong student financial aid program that I have yet to find any market in HK for private student loans. Sadly, the government of Hong Kong doesn't feel like they need to fund my education as a US citizen.

I've got a willing US cosigner (even though I've been independent for several years now), but I still appear to be up **** creek without a paddle. Does anyone know how or where I could get a student loan to study at this prestigious institution while it is lacking in a FAFSA number and I am a US citizen?
