Loans from my financial aid

Okay. So I’ve been awarded $8,100 in loans - full ride to UCR.
However, the COA is yearly; so when I graduate I would have to pay off $8,100 x4? or does the $8.1k count for all four years, so that when I graduate I only pay $8.1k off in loans?

Financial aid offers are normally per year.

If your package includes loans then how is it a full ride?

8100 X 4 for loans
you’ll be paying $32K + interest

how much in work study?

and you dont have a full ride

A full ride is a grant or grants that cover the full cost of tuition, housing, and a meal plan without you having to take out any loans or pay anything out-of-pocket. You don’t have that.

Is this the college where you needed to know if your grants and work study would cover the $14-16k/year housing costs or if you’d still have to come up with it sone other way? What is your net cost (tuition + fees + housing + meal plan) - (grants + scholarships, but NOT including loans)?

Your post makes no sense. I don’t think you understand. I work with a lot of kids that go to UCR. Will you be commuting from home? Either way, it will make more sense if you post you award letter info here.

@Lololo5

You wrote the above. A full ride would include moneyntomcover your tuition, fees, room, board, personal,expenses.

What was the total amount of your aid.

It does not sound like you got a full ride. Your aid would need to be in excess of $30,000 a year to be a full ride at UCR.

Think he meant full tuition (from Cal Grant).

@Lilliana330

Well then…here is the answer to the OP…

Your need based aid is ONLY able to cover room and board IF you received enough to first pay your tuition and fees…and there is enough left to pay other costs.

From the post this poster has made, this does NOT sound like it is the case.
