Lol please give me some hope

hey im applying ED do you think ill get into wharton?
I already posted this in the What are my chances forum but i might as well put it here too.
here are my stats:
I’m from NY, and i go to a public school that usually sends 1 or 2 people to ivy leagues.

I am Indian (from the country) and I am a guy

I have a 95 average (unweighted) so far and am probably in the top 5-8% of my grade (200 kids) (my school doesn’t rank).

So far I have taken 3 AP’s and I am in 4 APs this year (Gov, Lit, Calc, Bio).
US History - 4
Chemistry - 5
Macroeconomics - 4

I am also taking regular physics and college accounting (this will be weighted as an ap class cause i will be getting college credit for this from Long Island University/ CW Post) this year.

I have been in science research since 10th grade.

SAT: 1980
740M 640CR 600W

SAT II:
Math IIC - 690
Chemistry - 710
US History - 740

ACT: 31

Extracurricular:
3 Years JV Tennis (probably varsity this year but it is in spring)

Spent 3 weeks at Stony Brook University learning research techniques with a researcher there

Awards:

Honor Roll 11 and 12 (90 or higher)
Programming Award 9
I got honorable mention in 10th and outstanding achievement in 11th grade at the Long Island Science Congress (science competition).
I participated in Suffolk County Math Teachers Association Math Tournament and in a NY State poster contest about wastewater treatment but i didnt get any awards in either.

Community Service:

I have done 27 hours of community service at a local Head Start program (helping with underprivileged kids).

I volunteered at my Uncle’s Medical Practice as a office assistant for like 20 hours.

My recomendations are probably gonna be really good and my essay are pretty good.

just wondering, which school do you go to? I'm from NYC too. My school's in manhattan

Stick with ED. But, honestly, I don't think you're going to get into Wharton. I do think you've got an ok shot at the College.

My main reasoning would be that your school normally sends only 1 or 2 kids to ivy league schools overall (and you are in the top 5-8%), yet you are applying to Wharton - the crown jewel of Penn. Your test scores are good (ACT), but I'm not sure if/how they're going to consider those SAT II scores. If they do, they're not too competitive for Wharton.

Minor6th- actually i am the east end of long island :)

brand_182- I wanna do ED with Wharton but thanks for the honesty. I guess it is just if I am lucky or not. Should i even send my SAT scores?

plus this year there are probably more kids going to ivy leagues because my class is very smart, and my school doesnt rank so i dont know where i am exactly, that was just my guess. I know i am in the top 15 kids out of 200 but i dont know exactly.

That's what I was wonderin...because if you can just send your ACT scores in lieu of any College Board stuff, I think you'd look better on paper. I would call the school or check their site and see, because I think a lot of places accept the ACT in lieu of the SAT + SAT II tests.

Your ACT is quite good, by the way. It would be better for whoever is evaluating you to just see that good score and not the SAT/SAT IIs where your scores are just kind of average for Wharton. However, the US History score is very good, but you may be ok just sending in your AP Scores, which are really good as well, instead of your SAT stuff (where they'll see all of it).

ya i think my 690 on the math II would probably bring me down. Im certain that penn accepts the act by itself but ill have to check that

wharton doesn't. if you take the act you also have to take sat subject tests.

It says on the Penn application
"First-year applicants must take the SAT I with writing
and two SAT II: Subject Tests in different subjects. The
American College Test (ACT) with writing may be used
in lieu of the SAT I with writing and two SAT II: Subject
Tests. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that
official score reports are released to the University of
Pennsylvania."

so i think i can just send the ACT, later it says
"Candidates to the School of Engineering and Applied
Science or the Wharton School are encouraged to take a
mathematics Subject Test."

It just recommends taking the math SAT subject test, not requires it.

If I can just send the ACT that would be awesome since i got a 35 on the math part.

How many times have you taken the ACT? If that was your first try, keep in mind that you could possibly take it again and do better and only send in your best score.

As far as your app goes, I think that's the main thing you could do to better your chances, although your current score is good.

i have only taken the ACT once, but i think it is too late to take it again since i am applying ED

That's what I was worried about. Well, your current score is good. Just give the rest of the app your best. You've definitely got a shot and aren't crazy or anything for attempting it.

thanks :) It would be awesome if i got in

anyone else wanna comment on my chances?

bump...............
