I got 3 good teacher recommendations. My essays good. It focuses on a single memory I had out of early childhood and how it focused me on community service and pushed me to be a leader in housing rehabilitation for poor people.

Lemme know my chances again to Wharton ED. My EC’s are pretty good, because I was a big part of each club, not some random guy showing up and putting it on his app. My V for SAT is whats worrying me a little. Ok guys thansk for your help.

Let me ask some questions first.
Do you know and if you do, what is your class rank? How many students?
Where are you from (What state) and what ethnicity?
By the way, how did you get 3 teacher recommendations already? It's still August. School didn't start yet. Or maybe it did for you...
Ok, you have a good community service story. Maybe another good story from one of your ec's and you have a decent shot.

Ok. sorry I left out some crucial stuff.

There is no class rank.

322 seniors in my class, and they said im in the top 3%.

I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and I am Asian.

I'm a senior this year and I asked for 3 teacher recommendations at the end of my junior year. They are already finished.

When you mean another story, do I combine it with my first one? It wouldn't work well. Can someone here maybe read my rough draft for my essay through PM, if they don't mind?

Thanks for the feedback.

I'd say you have a really good chance? Why would you say you are on the boarderline. You would be a STRONG applicant RD as well as ED.

^ I agree (10)

yea, now with the new information regarding the class rank, you have a good shot ED.

Your list of ECs is kind of on the lengthy side, for the ones that you don't really do a lot in and aren't a leader (pres, vp, captain, etc.)-I would reccomend leaving off the app. They distract the adcom from what your true passion, or simply greatest time commitments, actually are. This is Wharton we are talking about, more and more, we hear that it just isn't good enough to be a strong student academically and extracirricularly. You need to identify yourself as a stand out individual. You have the test scores/grades but what do you do that is SO special, that Wharton should chose you? What have you done that displays your purest personality, and how will going to Penn bring out the best in that? That is what you need to make apparent to the fine people over in West Philly.

wow, thanks guys. didnt expect this. my parents maybe overblown the difficulty of getting into here, making me feel like im borderline. halopeno, i agree with what you say. the 2 years and above will stay. but the thing is, for choir, which i only did for one year, i was chosen to be the piano man for the group, and we got 3rd in a national competition in chicago. i don't know if it should be on that list, but it feels wierd to leave it off because i was an important part to the group. maybe it'll be a subsection of my piano addition. i'll take out football because i was only second string anyways (my school is a killer football school, 29-1 the last 3 years).

the extracurricular i find most fulfillment out of is my housing rehabilitation group in community service. i think the school will find more about my side on that matter because my essay is about that.

one last question if you are from upenn... in the supplementary, i have to write an essay on which professor i want to work with the most. what happens if i dont know any?? haha.

comments are much appreciated. thanks guys.
