LOLOL Dance party last night

turned into a riot.
Man this school...

We didn’t start the fire.

Yeah those guys are complete idiots. Sometimes I dunno about this school… Well actually to be more fair, sometimes I dunno about this city…

Seriously, I don’t even know why anyone would want to come here after hearing stupid **** like this being done at their own school. I was there for a little bit and I had a feeling this was gonna get stupid.

Did you even notice any hot Berkeley girls at the party?

^ They don’t exist. They deleted my thread on counting hot Berkeley girls. I bet some butterface complained.

Were most of the rioters non Berkeley students? I swear the locals or vagrants that come to Berkeley have severe brain damage or something, they just can’t keep things from degenerating into animal violence. I hope all the student rioters get expelled and building occupiers get shut out.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

it was about half and half at least from my perspective. some people weren’t even protesting. they were just yelling at the popo for the hell of it mainly because they were drunk off their asses. **** hit the fan at 1 (or 2? i don’t remember). I went down there because I kept hearing the sirens and then my friend called from U1 and told me **** was going down. Hauled some ass, got there, and saw fires and i was like nevermind **** this. lol Reminds me of when Obama won, just not as intense.

anybody know the story behind the dance party, and how the **** it transformed into a riot?

get with the party yo.

Yeah, “attended” the facebook event, but there’s no information beyond that.

It started as an organized party by an on-campus one-issue advocacy group, but the people who attended, mostly non-students, decided to use this as an excuse for animal-like violence.

It’s sad. From the looks of things and past events, it’s not the actual students or anyone affiliated with the campus that are causing problems. It’s rather some loonies who live in the city and gain a certain satisfaction from being unreasonably dissatisfied.

[City Brights: Zennie Abraham : Berkeley Riot: students battle police on Telegraph Av, Thursday](http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/abraham/detail?entry_id=58010&tsp=1)

To be honest, I’m not sure who was a student specifically here at Cal and who wasn’t, but half of the people there looked like they could be students and the other half just some crazies. It was the crazies that started lighting things up though, which is why I’ll never understand why Berkeley does nothing about its homeless people despite however many years.
Where I lived, there used to be a lot of homeless people too, but then the city just cleaned itself up and now there’s possibly one or two here and there.

Batman17: WOW Batman! How could you say something like that? Homeless people are people too you know? Besides, the homeless add to the diversity of Berkeley! They’re so nice and cool to talk to!

I was being sarcastic by the way. I agree, Berkeley needs to do something about the bums who sit around on the street and don’t do anything. It’s especially creepy/annoying when the bums start going into the BUILDINGS of the schools. I don’t feel safe at all.

The locals are just as strange as the homeless people you see on the streets. I don’t feel anymore threatened by homeless people than I do by the everyday locals. I think they fit in quite nicely actually. If we were going to ban them then they’d just migrate somewhere else, out of sight, out of mind. I think Berk needs to find a real solution to get them off the streets, but some are just too plain crazy for help.

They should instruct them three times to vacate the premises, and if not open fire with some rubber bullets and pepper balls. I’d pay to watch!

Or, the police could rent out riot gear (shield, mask, club, etc) to students for a nominal fee and then they could beat the living crap out of the protesters. Talk about a great way to generate revenue!

they should rent out rubber bullet guns or firefighter hoses. omg that would be so cool. hahaha

that night made me hate living in Unit 1 for once

As an applicant, and a young female, this is making me rethink my decision to move up to Berkeley. It sounds a bit wild there. :o Is it really full of the homeless and riots?

“The homeless” - sure
Riots - not so much
