look familiar?

Thanks mabsjenbu123 for the awsome find!

Guess this can clear up any questions for this section.

@olleger

Did u get my other PM by any chance?

Im trying to find the other passages. If anyone remembers any key words or short phrases from the other passages, that would be great!

well if there were any discrepancies about this passage on the science thread, they’re resolved now

Hey now that I think about it on the reading section they always have that first section that tells you where the passages come from. I guess people could check their reading answers in the future also :)

this was one of the more questionable answers I think

For the question that asked which of the following questions was not answered, do we still agree that this is the answer:

“What type of mammals are considered fliers”

The passage does say “an animal is properly called a flier only if it can generate enough force to gain altitude in still air” but Im guessing that’s not enough cause it never mentions which MAMMALS are fliers.?

Any opinions?

it’s still correct. the question was not answered. that phrase says an “animal is…”

What type of mammals are considered fliers?

animals aren’t a type of mammal, mammals are a type of animal.

all right good :)

Can you remember any phrases from the passage about the dad and speaking arabic?

no one could remember the exact wording for the answer but we all agreed that it was the one that said he was good at both languages and he became good at English through practice. the answer was definitely shorter than that but that’s what it was saying

^what about the one where he was either “intensely jealous” (idr the exact wording… but it seemed way too harsh) or surprised?

that’s one I may have messed up on. I think that was a question about the girl and listening to the people speak arabic. I think other choices were like disappointed or regret. I chose the one about regret if that’s the question we’re talking about

It was which WASNT shown. Either regret, consuming jelousy, suprise, and awe. I put regret. I am 75% sure I’m wrong though = / (the answer being consumed by jelousy). We’ve gone over this on this or another thread

it was which wasn’t shown??? ohhhh crap that’s why they were similar >.<

the word regret was actually in the sentence right before that little paragraph so that’s why i put it.

didnt it reference only the 3rd paragraph though?

Was regret shown in the 3rd par?

^ exactly the reason I decided it wasn’t shown. I’m glad someone else put that too!

no it was the transition into that paragraph from the last one. i really couldn’t read any emotions in that paragraph. it had to be regret or jealous cause she was just not happy that she couldn’t understand them but jealous is kind of an aggressive word and i didn’t get that feeling. but I’m no expert

@olleger - are you sure it wasn’t “was shown”. i swear it said what emotion was shown but I could be wrong.

@olleger

Im not sure what I put actually lol.

Do you think there was “consuming jealousy” in the third paragraph (or anywhere in the passage for that matter)? I don’t think regret was in that exact paragraph but idk…

I wish I could find the exact passage. Do you guys remember any names?

Also, I think it was “wasn’t” but now that I think about it, I’m questioning it haha

i remember for a fact that regret nor consuming jealousy was in that paragraph. regret was in the last sentence of the paragraph before it leading into the paragraph that this question asked about.

@canderson

So if the question asked for which WAS NOT shown, then consuming jealousy should be the answer

I hope I put that (assuming it asked for which "wasn’t) :)
