Looking at 2009 UCLA decision date using past info

Here were the first wave of decisions released by UCLA over the past 3 years.

2006: 4/26 ( Last Wednesday of the month )
2007: 4/24 ( Last Tuesday of the Month )
2008: 4/23 ( Second to last Wednesday of the Month )

In 2008, URSA FA started to show up for first wave acceptances exactly ONE week before the decision date. I don't have the info for past years though.

2 weeks ago, I asked if people thought that decisions could be released as late as the 28th or 29th ( Last Tuesday/Wednesday this year )/ The general consensus was that it was coming out the 21st-23rd. The one interesting fact about this year is that URSA FA showed up unexpectedly last Friday for L&S majors ( I know that some arts/engineering/theater majors saw it earlier this year ). I think there is still a chance that decisions could be released tomorrow.

Anyways, we'll find out status for UCLA and Cal soon enough everyone. It has been about 5 months in to this long process, another week or so will not kill you.

nijikon what you think about the provisional awards that some see? could you see it? do you still feel confident that the finaid theory will work this year? and don’t you think that if decisions would be out tomorrow, ursa will upload in the morning as well as myucla?

cheeser: I really have no clue about the Provisional Awards, I personally feel that it is a good sign. I cannot see it myself yet, but there is no reason to panic over not seeing it. I still feel confident that the FA summary theory still works just from evidence of past years/this year’s HS students. There has also been a lot of calls/conversation from users on this forum stating that UCLA will not outright support the FA theory but keeps stating “Only those accepted will have FAFSA/FA processed by the FA department”. I have faith in it until it is proven wrong. I think there still is a chance we could possibly see the SIR on URSA or MyUCLA confirmations tomorrow. Everyone just needs to take deep breaths and relax. We will find out for sure within a week.

Thanks, I was thinking about this a few hours ago, I’m glad someone decided to look it up! If I could give you rep points I would.

np, seems like all this “I know someone who works here and yadda yadda yadda” He said/She said non-sense is getting us nowhere. Analyzing data from the past might provide some insight to when decisions could be released. Just look at the URSA FA speculation from last week. Everyone thought that 4/16 was DDay for that info showing up and a lot of people gave up on it when it didn’t show up on Thursday. Then the summaries showed up on Friday!

The general answer that the UCLA Tap advisers have been telling CCC Tap counselors is “End of April” which points to next week. My guess right now is probably next Tuesday, I would love to see decisions come out tomorrow though so I can celebrate this weekend.

URSA is down at the moment… That in itself isn’t noteworthy, but on the error page encountered upon login it says “URSA Online is available Sunday 6 p.m. through Tuesday 1 a.m., and from Tuesday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., Pacific Time. Please try accessing the system during this period.”
If both brain cells in your head are firing at the moment, you can probably deduce that -right now- doesn’t fall within that time frame. Is something going to be changed when URSA comes back online? hmmmmmm…

I was going to create a new thread for this, but I don’t want to contribute to the spastic speculating by further cluttering the board… although I’m sure someone will once they see URSA is down. This is the most informative thread currently on the board in my opinion.

It is not my intention to be rude but ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■’s last post is worthlessly unnecessary.

…not really…and how was that NOT rude? lol

worthlessly unnecessary? so does that make his post necessary?

when you guys talk about decisions coming out. is it all online? do any of you wait for the mail?

durian- not only do we check online, we try to figure out hacks to find out earlier than the official notification. yeah, we’re crazy.
