Hello!
I’m a business major transferring from Sacramento City College to another CC. Besides SMC, can any of you recommend me CC’s in the LA area from personal experience? I would like to transfer to UCLA into Business Economics.
I wanted to go to LACC, building looks nice and their library is pretty nice too. That’s all I know though, and it looks like some people don’t think its a good school…
LACC is locally known as “that school” where kids from high school go to because they don’t know where else to go and can’t afford to go to a Cal State, etc. etc. However, it is a school that is on the rise and many would suggest that it is the best place if you live within the greater LA area and hate commuting long distances. SMC is on the westside, PCC is a bit of a drive up north, and ELAC is southeast. So LACC is nestled right in the middle and is located next to a lot of great businesses you can do internships with and get entry level jobs in. It’ll be my last semester at LACC this spring and all I can tell you is that its subjective. The staff will go above and beyond what is necessary to see you succeed, but you have to be the one showing the effort, going to class, doing the homework, insert college buzzwords here***
I have attended Pasadena City College, LA Valley College, and Glendale College, and out of those three I can confidently say that PCC is the best! Lots of classes available, very organized website and portal, helpful counselors, and it’s one of the best CCs in the state, if not in the nation.
