Looking for a college that is a best fit for me

Here are my stats

GPA: 3.95 UW

ACT 33

My ECs are all about Maths, Sciences, Engineering and most importantly (well, at least for me) Music.

I want to attend a college where I can participate in wind orchestra (To be specific, as a clarinet player) WITHOUT being Music major or minor

My major would be mechanical or electrical engineering.

Any suggestions?

Rice University in Houston, Texas.
They have a superb music program and really good engineering with lots of job opportunities, so I’m told.

Oberlin is one school that gets talked about a lot for music and engineering, and there is a lot of talk on music and X.

A couple days ago someone suggested this old thread:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1343994-good-school-dual-degree-double-major-music-perfrmance-x.html

And there’s recently been a thread about math and music dual degrees that you could search for.

For math/science but not engineering, you have St Olaf and Lawrence. Both may offer you merit and St Olaf is a 100% need school (meaning that they meet need - few schools do).
Check out URochester also.
I agree though that your profile seems to say “RICE” :p

Trinity University -match (international), but wonderful school. Scholarships available, even for non-music majors. Beautiful campus in San Antonio, TX. Super new science center. After Rice, the highest SAT scores in TX.

Costs nothing to visit the website, free application if done online.

Oberlin doesn’t offer engineering. They have a 3-2 program where you will have to transfer to another school after 3 years to get an engineering degree. Not a good choice for a serious engineering major.

What are your parameters for a college? size? location? finances? With your stats you will have a lot of options.
