I'm looking for a major that deals with recombinant dna or genetic engineering pretty much anything that does types of modification of genes and also colleges that offer that major preferable an outdoorsy university. I've been looking at university of utah university of colorado or montana state university so do any of those have the type of major im looking for. thankyou all answers are appreciated

You might find it difficult to find colleges that have those specific majors, but you may want to look at molecular biology (or even genetics) majors. Even a general biology major would be fine. Just try to take courses in molecular biology, genetics, probably cell biology and perhaps microbiology. Your school may also have a recombinant DNA lab (or some kind of molecular or genetics lab). Most biology programs should have those options, but that may be something to look into.

Also, try to get involved in research or other lab work as an undergraduate. If you can find something in a molecular bio lab working with recombinant DNA or cloning or something, that’d be great. But if not, any sort of lab work will help you out.
