looking for advice on next year's schedule -- IB student -- any comments appreciated!

<p>As you note, his record is relatively week in math and science. Environmental Science rather than Chemistry will not help that. Some colleges will look for students to have had chemistry, physics, and biology. But if he's really not a math kid, Math SL is probably a good choice--as I understand it, it includes calculus, which is important.</p>

<p>To me, geography is not too impressive--maybe I just don't know enough about it. Isn't there a HL History course he could take?</p>

<p>He could take History of Southwest Asia HL, but I don't think it is really any more "impressive". Geography HL is basically an indepth study of Human Geography and includes basics cartography.</p>

<p>He is thinking of taking a summer course in chem to add that to his transcript -- that way he would have all three without having to take chem for two years.</p>
