My goal is to become a doctor, but I don't know if I can handle the stress and pressure that come with the profession. I was looking for alternative careers that provide high pay, comfort, and job security. I was looking into perhaps accounting or engineering as backups? In any case, why can't one major in accounting and still apply to med school?

you could get into pharmaceutical sales..$$$

Major in pharmacy or business?

hmm not too sure, sorry.

Look into the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (http://www.usip.edu/). I'm not necessarily suggesting that you go there, but if you look at the list of their majors, it may help you get some ideas. http://www.usip.edu/majors/
