Looking for colleges with business schools and competitive cross country/track & field

Any guidance or suggestions would be great. It really seemed so much easier for my DS and looking at schools.

I have an all-over-the-place list my DD of schools she can competitively run at and have a business program. She doesn’t know what she wants to focus on in business. She is in the business academy in HS so has learned she doesn’t like marketing.

She is meeting with coaching from some of the schools listed below. She feels she wants a smaller school. I have some bigger ones on list for her to see.

Loyola of Maryland
Marist
Mount St. Mary’s (MD)
Seton Hill
Kutztown
Siena
Susquehanna
Stonehill
Lafayette (doesn’t have business program)- would have to be economics major
Merrimack
Duquesne (not sure about city school)
William and Mary
Quinnipiac (not sure she could competitive run for them yet - need to see cc season)
University of Rhode Island
Bryant
West Chester
MIllersville (may be too slow for her- she doesn’t want to be faster person coming in as freshman)

Didn’t care for
Bucknell (felt campus too big for her)
Monmouth - nothing special
Rider
Rowan (10 minutes from home and doesn’t want to be that close)
TCNJ

has she looked at colgate? idk about their business program but it’s a small D1 school and they have a competitive track team

How competitive a program are you looking for? What are your daughter’s times? What are her academics like?

Tough to see a pattern in those schools, but some teams from that region I’ve seen at XC meets that some of those schools attend:

SUNY Geneseo
Rochester
Christopher Newport
Widener
Muhlenberg
York
Ramapo

If she is sure she wants business perhaps Babaon and Bentley? Also if Jesuit colleges work then Fordham, Fairfield, UScranton and others could be good options.

It would be helpful if you could provide academic stats and any financial limitations.

Dickinson College - known for excellent D3 distance runners and international business and management is among their most popular majors offered

If she is tending towards smaller schools, Denison (Ohio) has an excellent Global Commerce program and very competitive D3 XC/T&F teams. My son runs track at Denison. It’s a very cohesive and supportive group, and the school provides terrific facilities and coaching/training support.

I found the website https://www.tfrrs.org/ helpful in finding schools to look into. You can search by division also.

TFRRS is an excellent resource. You can look at each school’s team and view “all performances” to get a sense of where your child stacks up.

Runcruit is another website that gives information on ballpark recruiting standards for schools. My S24 is a runner, too, but he has decided not to pursue it in college. :disappointed_relieved:

It’s exciting that your D is already talking to so many coaches!
