Looking for good resources for a pre-med student :)

I am an incoming freshman this fall. As of right now, I’m planning to major in biochemistry on a pre-med track. I would greatly appreciate it if you could list the names of any resourceful websites or books etc that would be useful for someone who is a pre-med. Thanks!

It’s the best

StudentDoctor has a highly active pre-med forum but be cautious - SDN is pretty neurotic.
reddit has a premed subreddit although when it isn’t application season it is often full of memes.

sidenote - if that’s you in your profile pic, it might be better to remove it and stay anonymous.

A great resource at Amherst (applicable to any College)

SDN is decent, as there are several users on there who are on legit admissions councils - you will see a “verified” status on their sidebars. In particular, pay attention to what LizzyM and Goro have to say. Keep in mind that high achieving students tend to gravitate towards SDN, so some of the stats/accomplishments that people share are not necessarily the norm or expected of you (like the people who have like 1000 hours of clinical experience or something, or started a non profit).

Also, the search bar on here or on SDN is your friend - chances are 50 other people have asked the same exact question you have.

@bopper Thank you!
