I just started my junior year in high school and recently started to research colleges. I would probably like to go to a liberal arts college that has a strong visual arts program. I was looking at colleges like Bard and Sarah Lawrence but think that perhaps they might be a little too left-leaning (I am very liberal, but I still like having diverse points of view). Any suggestions?

Skidmore College

I just searched a past CC thread that said Oberlin, Grinnell, Wesleyan, Reed, and Lewis and Clark all have respectable visual arts programs, but Reed and Oberlin are just about as liberal as it gets.

Macalester also has good visual arts but very very liberal.

At Reed I think you’d find that most students occupy the complete range of viewpoints, from radical left to moderately left.
