Anyone who is a current UG student, please send me an email. There are some things I want to find out from a student’s POV, and I get sick of using threads and post messages. If you have MSN Messenger or for email, it is rjimenez_1824@hotmail.com

A current student cannot be an alumnus.

And why not post in the forums? The entire point of forums is to have information available to everyone. Maybe other people have the same questions you do, or maybe your questions (and the answers you receive) will be relevant to people who never thought of them.

about the alumnus thing, I forgot to change it. Anyway, Im just not accustomed to forums , but Ill try it.

Back to the point. Are you a student?

Not yet, no.

what class are you applying to, then? I'll be applying for the class of 2011

I'm going to be in the Class of 2010.

There are many current Penn students on the boards. Just ask and you'll probably get a response from a current Penn student.

I am a Penn student, so ask away

I just want to know if the atmosphere feels right. I live in Puerto Rico and the largest city here is not even comparable to Philly. Is the city as good as it says in paper?, cause in the info they send from Penn, it paints it as perfect.

Well, yes, the atmosphere feels right to me. It is obviously not perfect (no city is perfect), but it has just about everything you need. I know some guys from puerto rico, and they're having a great time.

I'm hoping to go over the summer to the Leadership in the Business World program and hopefully get a bit of the college experience at Penn.

Just to be able to compare next Monday, when my SAT scores are available, what was your score?

What class and school are you in?

Actually, a lot of schools do consider current students to be alumni, even if they have not graduated yet.

i have a friend from mayaguez, pr that is in the class of 2007. i'm from vegas and i'm in the class of 2008. there are a bunch of puerto ricans here and although the weather isn't comparable you will definitely be able to adjust to penn. it is a welcoming place for all people! also, i did LBW, it was an awesome experience and really sealed the deal for me applying early to wharton.

I am really desperate here, cause a few people have already heard back from lbw and they have been accepted, but i still havent heard anything. I'm thinking it's probably because i sent the app the day before the deadline.

dude are you serious? (referring to post way up about biggest city in PR not being comparable to philly)

San Juan >>> Philly

Skraylor- Philly is actually bigger than San Juan by a few square miles.

136 Philly vs. 122 San Juan

even so, I live far from San Juan, so I dont go there very often. I also have a different point of view about them.

puerto rico -surrounded by water
Philly- open to the rest of the US

i dont mean size, i mean just quality of the city = )

ok i know there is A LOT of crime in san juan (and PR in general) but still, i think the intellectual scene in san juan trumps that of philly (ever been to gallery night things on tuesdays?)

but its all personal opinion i guess :)

yeah, it was rolling admissions when i applied, meaning they look at apps in the order they receive them...so don't worry about it until you actually get the letter!
