Looking for places to apply! :D

Hello :) I am a junior in high school searching for places to apply! I am interested in going to either an LAC in a "college town" or a university in the city; preferably in the Northeast, but I'd look anywhere. I truthfully would even consider rural schools, but I do prefer a place where there's something to do outside of school (whether it be wandering the city or going for a hike).

I prefer schools with all types of people represented, especially with a strong "artsy" community. I do find that I tend to favor the more "artsy" school vs athletic. I've already done a basic search and have some places in mind, but I would definitely like to check out what all you CCers think, and even where you think I have a shot at getting in!

Thank you so much!

As for my stats...
top 10% of my class
GPA: 93.6 UW
SATS: 1240/1600

check out skidmore

Skidmore is impressive! Thank you

Colgate, Smith, Hamilton, Trinity, Holy Cross could be good places to start. There are also a few elite LACs in the Northeast such as Amherst and Williams, but you would need to get your SATs much higher to have a change there. The first 5 schools i mentioned are very good though.

Fordham, Tufts, Northeastern, Bryn Mawr (women only school I think), Reed (in Portland though), Occidental College (in LA), Seattle University

You said you prefer a school in the northeast, located in the city or college town....
May wan't to look at the following schools:
Boston University
University of Maryland- College Park
Schools in the Washington D.C area
Cornell University

My daughter is pretty artsy and her list included Reed, Oberlin, Macalester, Wesleyan, Bard. It's tough to find a LAC in a city, or even a large town, but Reed, Macalester and Wesleyan provide that.
You might want to focus a bit on improving your SAT's to get into competetive LACs.
