Looking to complete Calculus AB and BC in the same year, tips would help.

So, right now I'm looking through the Princeton Review book. Any other books to consider picking up?

Just do BC. It has the same material as AB and more.
Oh and mit ocw. google it.

^ DO NOT USE DAVID JERISON. Avoid him like the plague - you’re better off learning from a book (I had a very very very clear understanding of every single damn thing he was explaining, and my understanding dropped noticeable after watching his lectures).

The other calculus guy (Gilbert Strang) was okay (though I only watched his linear algebra lectures; I’m not sure what his calculus lectures covered). I didn’t particularly like him though - I found that things made much more sense after a quick look in a (good) linear algebra book and disregarding a lot of what he said.

(That said, don’t get the wrong idea: MIT OCW can be AMAZING, like Walter Lewin’s physics lectures. It’s just that I don’t recommend it for calculus.)

Buy a HS textbook. It’ll cover the material better than a study guide.

yeah just do BC. It is not like AB covers anything that BC doesn’t.

in my multivariable class, we used mit ocw as a supplement. We had like an actual textbook but sometimes we use some of the mit ocw material.

Even though I never used it for BC, I recommend it as a supplement but get a high school textbook.

Hey im selfing calculus right now too
i’m getting tips from my brother(Who did this when he was in high school), but really all you really need is a Barron’s book, and other practice problems. Its really easy!

The MIT lectures, and khan academy is good if you want any concepts thoroughly explained.

You can’t take the AB and BC exams in the same year.

My brother took it when he was in Precal.
And if he’s taking AB, just take the BC exam. You get the sub score in there anyways.

I did this last year and got a 5

But seriously, there are over9000 threads about this already, look them up

the Peterson’s book is amazing - I did nothing in math all year (took BC straight after pre-calc) and read through that book the weekend before and got 5 BC (5 AB) and on the test:

The humor is also quite good
