Looking to Transfer from CC to Georgetown for French?

Hi Forum,
Hope you’re all having a good evening. This is my first post on here and I was hoping someone could give me some tips on how to transfer to Georgetown College from a C.C. Is it even possible? I would study french. A little bit about me… I graduated from an arts high school in Los Angeles where I studied visual arts. One had to submit a portfolio to get in and only 28 were accepted for my year. At our school we had 3 hours of intensive conservatory style art training every day. I got decent grades (all As and Bs) but didn’t take any acedemic APs. While there I curated two gallery shows with 3 friends (one in the spring of 2011, the other in spring of 2012) in which we hung student art and auctioned the work off for a different charity each year. In all we made about 9,000 dollars for LA Family Housing (which provides housing for the homeless) and New Directions (a charity that is dedicated to homeless women veterans). I also spent the fall of 2011 (1 semester - 3 months) studying abroad in the Rhone-Alpes region of france. I was sixteen and a junior and had always had a love for France and the french language. We had to sell the truck I would have driven to finance it but it was worth it. I lived with a host family and attended french school. It was an incredible experience. My senior year I interned at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles where I helped put together events that promoted art and art education among LA families, especially those of lower income. As a senior I was accepted and received scholarships to all the schools I applied to (all art schools): SAIC, RISD, and PAFA. I ultimately chose PAFA but dropped out after one semester despite getting good grades due to the onset of crippling depression. I moved back home and enrolled in community college where I had trouble initially due to feeling huge amounts of shame over dropping out. I attempted to join the army like my brother (almost worked, but I had a breakdown right before I shipped out and was admitted to a hospital) and I attempted to become a nun (but I was never confirmed as I vehemently protested against it growing up - my parents are very catholic and I’ve always had some issues with my own perspective on religion). Following the breakdown I had with the army things started to stablize. I started volunteering at the Gibbons Conservation Center making sketchbooks for their gifts shop and I enrolled again in community college (but was on my final leg of academic probation, meaning if I didn’t pass a class I wouldn’t be admitted back to the school). I ended up passing with straight As, one of which was an honors class. One of the classes that helped me get back on my feet was french. I am now off probation and am set to TA two french classes for my professor (who knows nothing of my previous probation or problems. I also plan to volunteer in Laos for 3 months). I am a member of the political science/civic engagement club at my school, am in the process of founding the French Art and Society Club, and plan to join the model UN club. I also plan to volunteer as a teacher at the community center in my town this summer as well as for the Bernie Sanders campaign. As far as academics go I plan to take as many honors classes as possible. I still have a ways to go before I can transfer but Georgetown has always held an appeal to me, I just never thought I’d be able to get in. I still don’t really, haha, but I want to try. It is a Catholic university but it is not a close-minded university. They are incredibly forward thinking in every aspect and foster such a wonderful international culture. I would be so proud to go there.

Anyways, if anyone out there actually took the time to read this, hats off to you! Thank you.
Is my plan to get in on the right track? I’ve looked around but haven’t seen any forums talking about how to transfer into the french program. If you know about any please link me!

Again, I’d appreciate any and all input.

Thank you

goodness what will you do with French?

Quite a lot actually. You could be a translator, an ambassador, a speech therapist, etc.

Personally, I plan to teach. My father is a teacher and I’ve always liked the idea.

In a dream world, I would use it to curate at the Louvre in Paris, after getting an art degree from École des Beaux Arts - my dream art school that I could never attend unless I exhibited fluency in french.
