<p>I know that Loomis had their first revisit day today. Did anyone on here go? If so, what did you think? Thanks!</p>
<p>I’m going on Tuesday !</p>
<p>We went today and were impressed! I’m glad we stuck with our original date, as the expected snow storm never materialized in the Windsor area.</p>
<p>The day began with coffee and muffins until most everyone showed up. We then moved to the chapel to hear some brief remarks by the head of school and the director of admissions. After that the students and parents split up. Students met up with their student host for the day; parents went off to another building for a talk about academics.</p>
<p>We enjoyed the academic overview, and they took a lot of questions from parents. After that, parents had the option of going to one of four mock classes: science, math, English, or history. I did science, my husband went to math. I loved the science presentation, the teacher was amazing and had wonderful ideas about teaching. We did a little “CSI” type exercise. The math class was calculus, which my husband found over his head, despite having taken that and other math classes in college. Both teachers answered lots of questions about their departments.</p>
<p>After that, parents had a choice of hearing presentations about either athletics, music, theater, or visual arts. We did music–excellent presentation and facilities. Then all parents crowded into the head’s house for lunch. Then off to an activities fair in the gym, where we met up with our son and his host, who was a charming young man.</p>
<p>After that, they split the group up by 9th/10th grade boarders, older boarders, day students (don’t remember if they split that group up by gender or grade). Each group went off to a presentation with students and faculty. Finally all reconvened in the music center for closing remarks, a brief musical performance, and a video about Loomis. It let out around 2:45. For those who had never gotten a tour of campus, they had optional tours after that.</p>
<p>We thought it was a very informative day. Our son went to three classes and lunch with his host, and also got to see his dorm. I think we all got a much better impression of this very impressive school! </p>

<p>Wow, NYMom, thank you so much! I had an idea of the general format because of the schedule included in the acceptance package, but your account fills in some of the blanks! I will definitely be attending Loomis next year, so I can’t wait to get a peek at my future school!</p>
