So I have to read this for Honors Brit lit 11. Then I have to re-write it within 3 pages as though either all the chracters were FEMALE or ADULTS...the thing is...I find the book WAY too easy and WAY too cliche/boring. I'm on page 50 and I feel like Im reading something I could have easily handled in 6th or 7th grade...does this book get good/is it worth my time?

haha i just remembered i forgot to give u feedback for that orwell paper u wrote. it was good but some better word choices r due.

Better word choices..damn..that's like the ONLY thing my lit teacher comments on other than ....EXCELLENT! THIS ESSAY IS GENIUS!! but with the rate she grades i probably wont get it back until...maybe next year?

I hate lord of the flies...and yea you should oh read it a long time ago.

I read Lord of the Flies in the 6th/7th grade (as you mentioned it was fit for). Great book.

my teacher was like..ive taught this from 8th grade to AP 12, it's appropriate for any grade....i was like huh? this book is a joke. i cant get into it like i do most books.

ive never read it i read it next year.

Lord of the Flies sucks so much. I mean if you want to torture yourself go ahead and read it, but if your idea of fun is different from staring at a wall then I suggest otherwise.

I read the book last year. It was ehhh. Not so good. All that action & violence didn't really get me into the storyline.

I liked it when I read it... but then I was in 6th or 7th grade.

I read it this year (soph year) for english class. It's pretty good I guess.. Keep reading and finish it. Get the symbolism and it'll be pretty interesting. =] ^^ PM me if you really can't get the symbolism haha.

logisticslord, keep reading, haha. It may seem elementary, but you will be able to cite the book in so many essays in the future, you'll be surprised. There are so many different ideas of symbolism and themes that you can use the book for various SAT and AP English essays.

I think it's a great book. Just because it's an easy read doesn't mean it's inappropriate for an eleventh grade honors class. It's important to read it within the context of other British government/society satires like A Modest Proposal, etc.

Keep reading it, and that sounds like an interesting assignment too.

The book is alright. On the surface it is simple and there isn't much to it. But once you think of it as a story filled with allegorical elements and tons of symbolism there is a lot more to it. When your writing keep in mind the id the ego and the superego, as well as, Maslow's Heirarchy and it should make the assignment easier.
