I can tell you right off the bat Penn will be a huge reach. Cornell would be high to medium reach.

Yeah, I honestly don’t expect to make it into most of the schools that I’m thinking about. I’m really just hoping to make it at Cornell.

Honestly, you’re better off adding more schools that you have a good chance of getting into to your list and taking off some of those über-reaches. You don’t want to end up with nowhere to go.

Very true. I don’t plan to apply to all of those schools. For back ups I’m considering american and drexel. What would you advise for my stats and a planned econ/business/IR major?

American’s a good choice. I’d also look at Tufts and possibly GW.

George Washington came up at the same time as american. I see them as pretty much identical (I made a thread about it, and the results didn’t really provide any real differences so I put American, as it seems easier to be accepted.) I’ve considered tufts, but, going by it’s USNews ranking and stats, shouldn’t it be harder to get into than NYU? Is it that I would apply to Stern at NYU?

Yes. You’d have a decent shot at NYU proper.

Do you know how easy it would be to transfer within NYU to Stern? Thanks for the Tufts suggestion though, I’ll be sure to look into that school more.

I’m not an expert on NYU, so I wouldn’t know. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Haha it’s all good, you’ve been of great assistance already!

Anyone else have comments?
