Losing a scholarship?

Wondering if anyone has experience with this.

DS has a Presidential Scholarship. Requirements are a 3.20 GPA each year to keep it. Freshman year, Fall Semester was a tough one and he only attained a 2.3. It will be nearly inpossible to get that up to a 3.2 this year. Will they pull the scholarship, or will they work with him to allow him a bit more time to keep it? It would be a shame that one semester can ruin it - although i understand it's on him and no one else's fault.

Without a good reason not to, they will pull it. There’s no freshman forgiveness with scholarships, but it won’t hurt–if he has a reason for the bad grades, such as illness or death in the family, etc–to ask the scholarship office directly. But he should do it, not you.
