ask there. Much more smarts in that departments there. Make a username and go to the misc section, which is where that link brings you.

It's possible, but unless you're a an experienced athlete who can carefully modify their calorie input and output it's pretty damn hard.

You're better off trying to gain some muscle in the beginning by lifting weights and eating a lot (good stuff like chicken and potatoes) then doing dieting and cardio later to shave off the extra fat.

That forum is good, but keep in mind there's a lot of bias, mostly towards supplement products.

Hit the gym. It worked miracles for me, but then again I play a sport quite seriously...

cardio will help you lose fat, lifting weights/doing crunches/etc. will help you gain muscle.
you should only to strength training every other day because in order for it to work properly your muscles need a certain amount of rest.

so most people say to alternate cardio and strength training.

^ yeah, that's what I do...it hasn't done much so far but I've only been doing it for 2 weeks lol

when you work out to lose weight you lose muscle mass. so if you want to gain muscles also you should do core workouts with lifting. dont be maxing out just do alot of reps. alot of reps you do = big muscles after a while.

Yeah, alternating weights with cardio is a good option. Or if you REALLY REALLY wanna do weights every day, just focus on different muscles everyday. ie. do legs one day, hands the next, chest/pectoral the third day...get the point right?

^ Yeah that's what I do. I worked out all summer, about 3-4 times a week and while my body isn't amazing, I do feel much better and in more shape. I've also been told it looks better.

Also, remember that less reps, more weight = strength. more reps, less weight = toning.

if you do strength training without cardio, you will be building muscle without losing weight and thus just appear bulkier
and if you do cardio without strength training you will lose fat but not have much muscle and you won't be toned.

so you need both

oh yeah and rusoboy23 is right, less reps+more wieght will lead to bulkier muscles whereas more reps+less weight will lead to toned muscles
