Lost... Confused...

I have finally decided I'm going to major in Finance. The problem is that I'm 21 years old, I have been in community college for 3 1/2 years on and off, and I'm just getting serious about my studies/education. I guess i would be what they call a late bloomer; and besides im tired seeing my friends graduate and im here doing nothing! Anyways, my GPA isn't all that great, in fact its horrible by my standards. I know i can do better, and i plan on retaking the courses where i scored below a B to improve my GPA.

And i know i can do better. Now im looking for a college to transfer too. But i don't know what to look for, or what questions to ask. All i know is that i want quality education and i want to attend a college where recruiting is good (i hope i said that right). A place where student to faculty ratio isn't too high, and where college tuition is affordable. And even if it isn't, i don't know too much about financial aid, so if i should be looking for something regarding financial aid, any advice, suggestions, i would appreciate it.

My mom wants me to attend terry college of business at UGA, but im not too sure yet, i want to look for other possibilities. Furthermore, about my GPA, what areas of my core curriculum should i be improving?

My other areas of interests are accounting and psychology. Which would serve better as a minor, or should i do a minor at all?

Man, i had more questions when i started this thread... oh well, i'll post more questions as i think of 'em.

-thanks ^_^

All large public universities are heavily recruited in the state they reside. If you are from Georgia and you want to work in Georgia, then UGA is probably your best bet.

You probably also want to look at overall rankings to see how your choices stack up:

Terry's Current Rankings
U.S. News & World Report
Undergraduate Program 27
Insurance 2
Real Estate 3
Management Information Systems 11
Accounting 19

I would also look for salary data of the various colleges online. If nothing is online, I'd request it from the University's career services.

BTW, do not minor. You just need to graduate and get a job. A minor will not help you in either regard.
