Hey, i'm from a college prep school in Maine. I don't want to post all my stats as i fear it could identify me.
2070 SAT 770 W 730 CR 580 M
SAT II- 730 and 790
GPA 3.75-3.8 unweighted...most rigorous courses and difficult private school
I have a combined 7 years of varsity athlete experience 4 and 3 and probably captain of one of those teams. Started a printed school newspaper my junior year (editor in chief). I've participated in two different academic Ecs. I'm one of 5 students chosen by the headmaster to be on the honor commitee. Honor society and 4 year member of student council (position held in junior year and i'm running for president this year).
I have awesome recommendations from teachers that have known me for years (1 since kindergarden)

I'd like to stay in the NE/Midatlantic area...Maine to D.C. (maybe VA?). Does anyone have any ideas for reaches/matches/ and safeties especially?

There are probably 1000 colleges in the area you have described. We need to know more about what you want from college.
Large school or small school?
What do you want to major in?
Rural or urban environment?

Also, 10 minutes of your own research will be 90 times more valuable than waiting for someone on the forum to tell you that your SAT score and GPA are too low, so you should just resign yourself to community college.

I don’t care about the size of the school…i’ve visited large and small schools and loved them both. I would prefer an urban school but i am not against suburban or rural schools. I intend to major in something like history, government, or classics.

And i’ve done 10 minutes of my own research, more than that actually. But i’m not the most objective person when looking at my own qualifications so i turned to this forum for advice like hundreds of other students do. Posting here can’t help.

It would also help a lot if you posted the list of schools that you have already looked at. Its much easier to look at your choices and make suggestions higher or lower based on your scores than to conjure up a whole list. I’m going to assume, because of your SATs, that you are a rising senior. At this point, it is not a problem to have as many as 40 colleges on your list now. I would suggest taking the next week or so to add anything you might be interested in to the list, and then researching 2-3 colleges per day to get a better idea for where you want to go. For instance, today I eliminated UMiami because of geography, Northeastern, because they dont offer the program I am interested in, and UW-Madison, because it is too big.
