I would like to stay in the northeast and I have visited both large and small schools so size doesn't really bother me.

Just trying to figure out where i should be looking and what are the best schools i have a chance at. Thank you for your time

You’re going to need to be more specific. Sports? Class size? Rural/suburban/urban? Proximity to major cities? Social life–Greek-dominated, etc?

im looking to play either baseball or football but its not a need although i would like there to be good sports teams at the school. I’m also looking for either and urban or suburban campus, class size isn’t a factor either. The hole greek thing isn’t a factor either. Also having a nice campus is very important to me. thank you

Have you tried [College Admissions - SAT - University & College Search Tool](http://www.collegeboard.org) ? Use the ‘search for college’ feature. You can choose the northeast only for location and choose the size of school you want. Then you can choose which sports and even D1 or D3 or even club sports. A list will come up, and then you can weed out or do another search with more criteria. I found this very helpful.

calvincoolidge yea im noticing that. My problem was that i tried to take alotta of classes that were alittle out of my league and my grade kinda payed for it but these are my grades and thats what im stuck with so im going to try to make the best of it.

Hofstra might be a bit of a reach, but if you bump up your SAT then you could have a shot… It’s in your area and it’s not incredibly selectibe, although your GPA will still be a major obstacle. But at least it’s because of rigorous courses, which I’m sure will be noted. If I were you I’d definitely try to improve my SAT score, it would help your chances drastically at anywhere you apply. So I’d recommend improving your SAT and applying to those schools and Hofstra, though with your GPA it’s still a reach, most likely. All that anywhere can say is no. Or yes(: (or waitlist you, but that didn’t fit into my post post well)

thanks elikresses what should i be looking for on my sats (believe me ino i didnt do well on it the first time). I took it earlier this month and im 100% i did better. also what are some bigger school that i may have good chance at?

Hmm, a 1900 puts you in the 75th percentile of Hofstra students, that’s not too much higher than what you have, plus it would make many other reaches matches. I’d shoot for at least a 1900.
