Lottery cutoffs for fall 2012

Good luck to the doubles applicants. May you all get on-campus housing.

Let us know your numbers and what you ended up with, if possible. Future applicants will be interested.

the highest eligible number for selecting doubles in the first round was 8358

ooh, thought it would be higher.

Housing is all sorts of messed up. I was able to pick Clothier (again) but lucked out with a corner room, which is significantly larger than the other rooms, on the eight floor. Should be good. Clothier is conveniently right off route 18

Congratulations, Ncheer. I’m glad someone got what they wanted!

thanks rualum =) hopefully your son had some luck with housing!

Yes, he was able to get apartment housing by meeting up with a group with a decent number (his was almost 9k). It was a stressful few weeks.

btw if any of you hear of any cutoffs that aren’t posted here, or know someone who got a certain housing with a certain number please post it here. Every year students want to get an idea of what is possible with what numbers and it’s nice to have 2012 consolidated here.

Thanks to everyone who helped with their experiences.

Can an incoming freshman request to room with a friend of his. Or is it all random?

I think you can request a roommate, you can look around on the housing website

Interesting question and answer (from Rutgers Housing Assignment Offices) that I saw on FB.

Q: If I’m already locked into an apartment for next fall, but one of the four people decides to move into his frat house instead, what happens to our apartment? Do we get a fourth roommate at random? It isn’t the person whose number was used to get the apartment if that makes any difference.

RHA A: Rutgers Housing Assignments Office You would get a random roommate, probably a Transfer student. If you have a friend you would rather pull in we can usually help with that. Tuesday at 9:34am April 3.

Lesson: If you have a party of 4 but one may leave later, don’t worry about it. Just apply for the housing you want (with that roommate) and continue to look for a replacement roommate. This works especially well if the roommate who will be leaving has the best number.

Availability of doubles as or March 29, as per Rutgers Housing Assignments Office: Stonier and Hardenburgh are full. Aside from that we still have plenty of spaces on College Ave. For New Gibbons only female spaces remain, male spaces there have been filled.March 30 at 11:19am

They did not say anything about doubles on Livingston, which I would not expect to fill up totally.

Posted on April 4: Still looking for housing for 2012-2013? Apply to the waiting list now at https://oncampus.rutgers.edu/</a>. Spaces are still available and room offers will begin soon!

So it looks like everyone who intially applied for housing got it.
