Loud RA's

Twittermouse, I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. It is time to deal with the situation head on.

Knock on the door. When someone answers, see if you’re specific RA is in there. If she is, ask her if she can come to your room because you would like to speak with her about something in private. By doing this, you accomplish a few things. You address the situation with YOUR RA. She can than pass the info on to the others. It is done in a private way as not to embarrass anyone.

If the idea of talking puts you in a panic state you may try this option. Write out exactly everything you want to say in a note. Be specific. Write down exactly what you heard (including the rude comment about you) through the door. Explain the noise issue as well as the hurtful things overheard by you. Mention the noise from them fooling around with the connecting door to your room. Either knock on the door of the RA Meeting room and hand deliver it to your RA or knock on your RA’s dorm room door and hand deliver it to her there.

Keep a copy of the note. If the problem continues, you can show it to the next person higher up in the chain of command.
