Loving UNM

I just have to say, that UNM was so much the right choice & perfect fit for my Son. He's in the honors program & the honors wing in his dorm, he gets along great with his roomate, he's in the marching band, likes the dining hall food & their extra snack stuff, and is generally LOVING UNM!!!

He auditioned and visited many colleges. The minute we set foot on the UNM campus, my son & I simultaneously had that AHH-HA moment everyone talks about (you know, when the Michelangelo sunbeams suddenly appear and the Hallelujah chorus plays) when you just know "THIS IS IT."

I am so glad J.D. Shaw, French Horn player/teacher extraordinaire, left the Frost School of Music for the UNM Music School, "forcing" us to take a look at UNM. My son is now happily attending UNM as a music performance major. Music at UNM is briskly transforming from mediocre to magnificent - watchout Shepherd SOM & Jacobs SOM, don't rest on your laurels 'cuz UNM is moving up fast!

Glad your son is loving UNM. The school i seriously underrated.

Tell your son he must try the cinnamon rolls at Frontier which is just across Central from Popejoy.

And that green chile goes with everything.

OMG, those Frontier sweet rolls were to die for. A fellow band mom here in FL actually grew up in ABQ and attended UNM. The first thing said when I told her of my son’s impending attendance at UNM, was that we had to go to the Frontier. So we did - yummmm!

And yes, I believe my son is now addicted to green chili everything.
