When filling out my application, I left off a low ap score (a 1) in the self-reporting section. But the official score report will include all of them. Will Stanford rescind admission for this? Is it worth paying to withhold the score?
As AP scores are not required for the admission review, only those scores you submit to the university in support of your academic rigor and preparedness need to be submitted in an official form after acceptance.
From Stanford’s website:
"If you are offered admission and choose to enroll, official scores will be required. In order for test scores to be considered official, they must be sent directly from the College Board or the ACT.*
*Please note: Stanford reserves the right to revoke an offer of admission if an applicant’s self-reported test scores do not align with those in the official score report."
Additionally:
“Students currently enrolled in AP courses are not required to submit AP scores as part of our admission process. However, we welcome the self-reporting of these scores as additional information to your application.”
Were you able to pass the high school course?
I don’t think they’ll rescind your admission for one random ap score. If you got into Stanford, your grades and other test scores should be good, so as long as you didn’t lie it’s fine. If you had extremely low grades on your final transcript that would have been a different situation.
I got an A on the course due to extreme grade inflation. I chose not to self-report on the application it since it would’ve seemed off if I had an good grade in the course, but a 1 on the exam. The official score report from college board will include all scores unless I pay to withhold the 1. And I don’t think there’s a way to officially send my separate scores individually
