So, I'm an incoming freshman at NYU, and got a pretty decent Finaid offer. However, for things to work smoothly, I really need to get on a LCT at Rubin. Is there a way I can let the Housing office know that I really need to be put there? Do people who apply to an LCT's usually get one?

My daughter wanted a LCT in freshman year. What we did was only give 3 choices on the application rather than the number allotted. The second thing she did was to request an exploration theme in Rubin. She did end up in a LCT and exploration theme in Rubin.

There was no way for me to just pick three… I already sent everything out, and I’m really worried. Do you think I should talk to a financial aid officer and tell him/her about my situation?

I don’t think Financial Aid would be the right people to talk to…they don’t assign housing. You might call Housing, but remember there are lots of people in your same situation, and the housing is done by lottery. D needed LCT last year and was placed in her fourth choice Brittany, which is much lower cost because of the no AC (not really a problem) but technically not an LCT…It worked out fine for us because we weren’t planning on Rubin, which is even lower than other LCTs. Is it to late to ask for one of their Explorations floors?

it might be too late, but if you really need to call, then call the housing office.

i just got assigned the low cost triple at rubin hall and would like to exchange bed for bed assignments for some place with ac…what assignment did you get?

I managed to get my LCT, sorry. There was someone Alex G Barbazan on facebook that was looking for that. You should def contact him.
