On my housing app I opted for low-cost rooms in Rubin, Hayden, and Third North in that order. Are the low-cost options much more cramped, especially in Rubin? Does the low-cost 7k in Rubin differ greatly from the low-cost 9k in Hayden?

Does anyone with experience want to offer insight? Did you feel that it was worth the 2k-5k savings?

My D did the LCT in Rubin. It was OK. It actually was a very nice dorm overlooking 5th ave. She got first dibs in the room so she had a bed near the window. Her and her roomates debunked the beds and each had their own little territory in the room. It was actually worth the cost, because from soph year up the cost goes up tremendously.
She stayed in Hayden in summer before school started, it wasnt a LCT, but she was not too crazy about her room, although some of the other rooms she saw were much nicer. The location of Hayden is pretty sweet.
