low GPA, decent SAT, decent-good EC's what school? What chances?

Hi all,

I'm new to CollegeConfidential and reading around has been a great help. This whole application mess has really caught up to me, keep in mind I've always been thoughtful about colleges but now that I really have to say, thats it, you know, I'm out of stuff to build on, I want to know any suggestions you guys have and if you think I honestly have a shot at the schools I'm looking at

thank you!

edit: also, i was diagnosed with adhd in the summer after junior year, worth mentioning?

I feel like all of your reaches are unrealistic, your test scores are on the low end for them and your GPA is as well (even with the higher GPA before you left for 30 days). I’m sorry I don’t know enough about the other schools on your list.

thank you, do you have any tips on schools i should look at then?

I don’t have a specific school in mind (I have no idea what you want) but you should look at schools that are closer to your stats. I would say schools where the average stats are around a 3.5 and 2100-2200 will be better (though you will likely find schools with lower SATs for that GPA).

Please your reaches aren’t unrealistic, the admissions are done holistically (your essays, recs, transcripts, scores etc), your test scores are fine but yes your GPA is low for those schools and only if you did something extraordinary, will it be overlooked. You should give it a try but have a back-up plan because there’s a very little chance however there’s still a chance, so go for it. If you are Asian I think you should forget it!
