Low GPA, Decent SAT, GREAT EC's chances??? please help

<p>unfortunately I was not a stellar student throughout high school and my GPA is only a 3.0</p>

<p>HOWEVER, my senior year I received 4 A's and 2 B's with two of the A's coming in AP classes.
I got an 1800 on my SAT, all scores around 600. The best part of my App are a few extra curriculars that are incredibly unique and well beyond what colleges usually see. </p>

<p>some other info: I have been told by admissions people from schools such as Maryland and BU that I am "impressive" and have a real shot of getting in. </p>

<p>I still feel like schools that are a little bit better such as GW, Northeastern, NYU would be a better fit for me. </p>

<p>Does anyone have any incite or experience in this? and if you could suggest some schools who LOVE good extracurricular activities that would be great.</p>

<p>I suggest posting your ECs (or at least vague descriptions of them). With your stats alone all those schools are reaches and honestly your ECs have to be the best things in the world to compensate.</p>
