Low GPA for Columbia? thx

Thats a bunch of crap taxguy..I'm sure you can get into a top school with a 3.9 weighted..depending on the competitivity of your school..and how you rank among the students.

If I were a Moderator I'd ban you. Seriously.

A girl from my school got in this year with a 1260 sat and 97 weighted avg. 97 is a 3.9 I believe and the sat is quite low for Columbia-- they really do look at the person as a whole and not just scores.

Her ecs must be exceptional.

i actually had one AP in my soph year, 1 honor in 9th grade, and 4 honors in 10th grade. i will have one AP junior year and 4 honors. i dont have as much AP as everyone else, so i plan to take like 6 during senior year. hard is it?? uh im gunna try my best though.........

bump bump bump

Guys, this is a supportive website... lets remember that...

lol thx IHATESAT

bump thx!!!!!

woo89, honestly, it doesnt matter what others think of your chances. Just present a good application and apply. You never know if you will get accepted/rejected unless you apply!

Hey, I personally hope you get in, so you can break some people's pedantic mindset that one has to have at least 3.9UW/1500+ in order to have a chance at top schools. Then later on, when other kids get bashed on this site for aiming high, you can be like, "Well, I had a 3.9W GPA, and I still got into Columbia."

That'd be classic.

Amen to that brotha...

yea i really hope i can get in. i just have to work hard, and show how dedicated i am. thx for any supports!

there you go Uggh.
Woo, if he loves to be proven wrong, well... ya just can't let that challenge slide can ya?

i definitely will not let that challenge slide. i think i have a good shot though. ill work hard to get in. ill prove taxguy wrong.

If you get in, you'll be a hero indeed here at CC.

the fact that u said ill be a "hero" implies that i have no chance of getting in right? lol........is that what u really think?

At my school, your only allowed 1 AP sophmore year, 3 Junior year (if you double up on AP sciences), 5 AP senior year (with doubles in Math and Science again).

The valedictorian at my school got perfect scores on every class in high school (no 3.5's, not 1) with the extra .4 weight on AP's he didnt even pull off a 4.2. He had a 4.1 GPA, thats a perfect GPA for my impossible school.

in my school, someone got into CU SEAS with weighted GPA of 3.79 or something that was below 3.8w
But he had great SAT II scores and my school is famous for its harsh grading.
it's one of those preppy schools in New England

did you get in or nah ?
