So the first three years of high school I usually got straight A’s, sometimes 1 or 2 B’s giving me a cumulative unw GPA of 3.9 and w GPA of 4.1 . BUT I MESSED UP SENIOR YEAR. I transferred schools like a month into the school year which added on to the difficulty of the new AP classes since I had to catch up. aaaaanndd you know… adjusting, senioritis, etc. Basically, my senior fall unw gpa dropped to a 2.8. I didn’t get any Ds or Fs but still…Can I make up for that by improving second semester? Or is there no use?
Also, I was in the top 9% when I applied but now Im not so does that mean that the ELC for UCs won’t apply to me anymore?
All the UC’s, except UCLA/UCB require you maintain a 3.0 weighted GPA in your Senior year and no D’s or F’s, to keep your provisional acceptance. UCLA/UCB require a 3.0 unweighted but I am assuming it is your cummulative GPA for the year not just 1 semester. Definitely work on getting that GPA up 2nd semester and you should be fine. ELC will apply since it is based on your 10-11th grades, not 12th.
Oh alright. I’m not really worried about my cumulative GPAs but I’m still confused about the whole senior year GPAs. Do I have to maintain a senior 3.0 UNW GPA or W GPA? I wouldn’t be worrying about this if I didn’t slack of…
UCLA/UCB want you to maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA in your Senior year while the rest of the UC’s want a 3.0 weighted GPA in your Senior year.
