Low GPA, High SATs

My situation is a bit weird. My GPA is 3.4 unweighed and class rank is 44/320, but I have a 1480/1600 or 2210/2400 on the SATs. My guidance counselor told me that Rutgers would most likely reject my application because of the discrepancies in GPA and SAT score.

Anyone know how this works?

What school are you applying for? Pharmacy? Engineering?

If you are applying for SAS I want to laugh in your face. I see no discrepancies in your GPA or SATS. That has to be a joke?

But that’s your unweighted GPA, meaning your weighted GPA (which Rutgers consider) is at least a 3.5 or higher.

Ask him/her what your WEIGHTED GPA is. That’s what counts (unless you had a crapload of C’s or lower on your report card)

If you are applying to SAS, then no need to get scared or worried =)

Tell your guidance counselor to go suck air. Okay, that was a bit harsh. (It just brought back memories of my high school guidance counselor. It’s like she had no faith in me)

Your guidance counselor is an idiot.
