My overall weighted gpa is 3.1 and 2.99 unweighted,(ranked in the 30 % of graduating class) I am currently a permanent californian resident, native from Peru. My sat scores are very low, which is a result of the limited time of the sat and language difficulties(had only 4 years of english). however I am retaking the sat I next month and hoping for at least a 1750.
My sat II scores: Spanish(800) History(600).

*I plan to major in psychology or crimology.

So what are my chances? does being a minority help? any suggestion will be appreciated.

UCs stopped taking race into consideration for college admission several years ago.

Why are you choosing Niagara as a safety as it seems to have little in common with the UCs? It would cost your family a lot more than would a UC and it would be hard to reach and in a very different area of the country in terms of climate.

Raise your SAT score to 1850
Then you may have a chance at UCR
Your minority status will help you a lot in UC's, believe or not.
By the way, are you the first generation in your family to go to college? If so, that will also help you a bit.
Good luck!

I think the average gpa for UCR admits was a 3.6 weighted...UCr might be a reach for you...UCI will be a big reach since their average gpa was a 3.9 weighted for admits...but you never know..you're minority status and first generation thing might give you a chance at UCR. good luck

Are you an ELC-top 4% at your school with a completion of a-g requirement?
If you do then, you have a very good chance at UCR and probably UCI.
I think that you will defintely get admitted to all the Cal State.
Good Luck!!!!!.
