Where do kids in your school tend to go to college? Where do the top kids go, and the kids with your grades? I would not count on UVA as they are very grade conscious and do not tend to take difficulty of school into consideration (my observation, but ask your gc if anyone with your grades got into UVA, I know no one around here who has with slightly higher grades and much higher SATs) You are often compared to your classmates by the tougher schools and if you have a slew of kids who are applying to the same schools as you are with much higher grades, it's going to be a tough go unless your school is known to them and they have admitted kids with your grades in the past. Your gc would be the best source for this sort of thing. Take a look at lists of where kids got in during prior years, and talk to some recent alums from your high school. That is what really is going to make the difference.
Right now most of your schoolsare all reaches for you as your SATs are not sky high for them, and your grades are on the low side.

my personal opinion (and based on previous alum from my school)
UVa - low reach (OSS)
UMich - match/low reach (OSS)
UNC - match/low reach (OSS)
Cornell/UPenn/Northwestern/Caltech - High reaches
Columbia/JHU/BC - low reaches (i am very involved in Columbia)
CMU/Tufts - match
Case Western/Rutgers - safety

any suggestions for schools I can add to this list??

u should consider taking out either UNC, Northwestern, Caltech, and or Tufts. Also don't forget to add Duke & WashU
