Low gpa w/ high sat - what are my chances pleaseee???

I'm not applying hypms, but plan to apply to some of the following:
UVA, UMICH, UNC, Cornell, JHU, Columbia or UPENN, Rutgers, BU, BC, Tufts, Northwestern, CalTech, CMU, Case Western.

93 gpa w/ 2150 SAT (plan to retake - shooting for 2280)
if i work hard 1st semester of senior year, 95 gpa
SAT IIs- 800 Math II, 800 USH, 790- Bio M, 780 - Chem, plan to take English Lit, EC's are good w/ solid leadership positions, hopefully good recs & essays, Research experience @ Columbia

Which of these do i already have on lock up and which of these should I not bother applying to ( i wrote 15, but i want 8-10)??
btw, i wanna go into premed or biomedical engineering

y isn't anyone replying???
30 views, but no replys
help me out pleaseee

How does a 93 GPA correspond to the GPA at a 4.0 scale? Sorry.

Your SAT score seems solid, try to get a solid 2200 like your goal is now. Your SAT IIs are very nice.

You have strong chances at all your schools.

Well the scale his school is on is out of a 100.
UVA-Safety
UMICH -Safety
UNC-Match
Cornell-High Reach
JHU-Reach
Columbia -High Reach
UPENN-High Reach
Rutgers-Match
BU-Match
BC-Reach
Tufts-Slight Reach
Northwestern-Reach

List EC

do you have significant ec's related to what you want to study in college? With that, I think you have a strong chance at alot of those schools

add in Duke (less of a reach) and take out UPenn or Columbia (high reaches), since Duke has GREAT premed and biomedical engineering programs.

Just my 2c

thanks for the advice, this gives me a lot of input
my ec: (NLRGO = No leadership role given out)
Science Olympiad (10-12 NLRGO) - won several awards
Science League (10-12 NLRGO) - participated and was state 2nd at one poing
Science Bowl (10-12 Captain) - team was 6th in state
Science Honors Program @ Columbia University
Research experience @ Columbia University (muscle disease biochemistry)
First Robotics (9-12 hopefully captain nxt year)
S County Youth Council (8-12 president) - Habitat for Humanity, 4H fair...
S County Youth leadership (11 NLRGO) - one year course (sort of) must apply
TREND (11-12 VP) - school fundraisers, food drives...
Peer Leadership (12) - seniors help freshmen adjust to school
Chorus (9-12 NLRGO) -
Varsity Track (both winter and spring) - not good enough to be recruited

oh my ap's:
10th grade:
AP Chemistry (5)
11th grade
AP Biology (5)
AP US History (5)
AP Statistics (4)
Next year:
AP Physics B, AP Physics C, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP Art History, AP Calculus BC, AP English Language, may self study gov't & politics if i have time

hmm, no more replies?....bump

UVA and UNC (chapel hill i assume?) are HARD for OOS... i'd take out UNC because its near impossible (for my school anyway) for OOSers

you got a solid chance at the rest

you're gpa's not that bad... im guessing you're in the 3.8-3.95 range on a 4.0 scale....but i have no prior credentials to validate that..just an eyeball guess + my 2c

i mean.. i would say the gpa kinda translates to like a 4.0, so it isn't low..
but then again..

A-'s pull real gpas down a lot more than they do percentages.

figure out your gpa.

A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0
add it all together, divide by number of classes.

if it's AP, add 1. like an A would be a 5.

these percentages are hard to chance.

ec's and course load looks pretty good, but sat needs to be a little highter
UVA-Slight reach (OSS)
UMICH -Slight reach (OSS)
UNC-Slight reach (OSS)
Cornell-High Reach
JHU-Reach
Columbia -High Reach
UPENN-High Reach
Rutgers-Match
BU-Match
BC-Reach
Tufts-Slight Reach
Northwestern-High Reach

any other suggestions for premed...bump (last one, lol)

one more haha

Any particular reason you plan on simultaneously taking both physics B and C?

I'd say you have as good a shot as anyone at most of your choices, especially with your target SAT. And I say keep Columbia in there. You clearly have a history there and that could have some impact on admission. No reason not to try, right?

I'm taking the AP physics B course, but self studying C. I don't think it should be too hard. If i am terribly wrong, tell me!!
but yeah, i also want to keep Columbia in there, maybe the have a spot for me, lol

seriously, you have a decent shot to get accepted to any of those schools. since you're applying to so many competitive schools i'm sure you can get accepted to at least one. hopefully you can get a little lucky. good luck man.

I'm curious what is low about an A average?

if u went to my school, u would know
pretty much everyone has 4.0 GPAs (prolly b/c they didn't take AP's as sophomores, but w.e.)
i think i'm barely in the top 25%, good thing my school doesn't rank

here we go...bump
