Hi so I just finished sophomore year and my GPA is a now a 3.4 UW and for 10-12, it's a 3.53. I know that this GPA is extremely low and I'm gonna try my best to bring it up junior year but I really don't know what to do. I only took honors and APs these past two years which really screwed up my GPA. I really want to go to UC Berkeley for Business and Music but I don't know my chances of getting in anymore. I'm taking summer courses at a community college in hopes of bringing up my GPA but I was wondering what you guys thought about this? I have pretty good ECs with many leadership positions and I'm taking the SAT this fall which I've been consistently getting in the 2200's on the practice tests. What do you guys think?
The schools that I was hoping to apply to were:
UC Berkeley(top)
USC
UCLA
Columbia
Cornell
Northwestern
BU
Brown
UPenn(yeah I know.. not gonna happen lol)
etc

Could you also recommend some safeties??
Any help would be extremely appreciated! I'm so desperate right now... Thank you!

Hey, You will still be a good match for Berkeley if you have a good weighted GPA and good extra-curricular activities. Oh, for the Safety’s try your state school.

Do they check weighted GPA…? If so then mine would be a 4.53… and I live in California. Thanks for the help!

Schools look at the GPA that you have after the end of junior year. Your GPA is not ideal for a lot of the schools on your list, work on bringing it up next year…

Yeah I’m taking seven classes, all of which are AP’s and honors. I’m pretty sure I can get straight A’s because they’re subjects that I actually enjoy and I’m no longer gonna have any distractions from outside of school… I’m also taking a spanish course at a community college that’s worth two years of language so hopefully that’s also gonna bring my GPA up… What’s the ideal GPA in your opinion?

you still have a chance to bring it up also SAT

My only problem is that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to bring it up enough… I’m gonna have an upward trend and I’ve been getting 2100-2200 on practice SATs (hoping for 2300 by October) but would this be enough…? My GPA is so poor when I have everything else on check.
