Low Grades, High SATs, do you think I have a chance?

SAT:
Reading: 770
Math: 680
Writing: 700

total 1450 or 2150

Grades: 3.55 unweighted. this is my main weakness I have... I dont think it really represents how hard I worked, since our school is espescially hard with a wacked grading scale. its really low by CMC's standards though, so I think in the end its going to end up killing me.

7 AP's:

Ap Stat
Ap Calc AB -3
Ap Gov
Ap Lit
Ap Lang - 5
AP Env Science
Ap US History - 5

My recs will be pretty good, but I dont know If my essay will really be the best. And my EC's are ok, but CMC may see them as weak on the leadership aspect.

I really want to get into CMC. Im pretty scared that I wont get in however

anyway please respond, I would like some feedback

Thanks :)

This is tricky you have the opposite problem of most people. I'd say the most helpful thing would be to have your counselor write a letter about how you actually did very well acording to your schools grading... if you can get a letter like that. Then blow them away with your essays lol
nothings imposible

i second 2much2do. i came from a very competitive high school and grdaduated in the top 11%, which was not really representative of how hard i worked. the counselor's letter should help with that. also, if other kids from your high school have applied and gone there, that helps, as the admissions officer will be familiar with how hard the high school is. i didn't have that advantage...i'm the first from my high school to go here. good scores. good job on taking lots of APs. write good essays!

Thanks guys

yea I dont know how good my essays are, I mean I know how good teachers and other people think they are, but I dont know what CMC is going to think of them.

This is copied directly from my EC sheet, except that I had to take out what grade I participated in these activites in because of formatting problems.

oh yes...

will not having SATII's affect my chances?

edit: and my recs are going to be awsome! I have my gov teacher who has a georgetown law degree writing one, and im basically his best student. Also, I have my junior year ap us history and AP lang teacher writing one, both of which AP exams I got a 5 on

also, my counselor is writing an extra letter saying that I preformed very well in spite of the difficulty of my school, which should help to alleviate some of GPA problems

SATII aren't required or recommended.
