Low Income Need Based Fin Aid

Hi, I'm a soon to be senior looking at some pretty good colleges such as Wash U, Vandy, and Rice. The problem is, my parents are divorced and I live with my mom. My dad pays no child support, and my mom is a high school teacher making <55k a year. How much need based financial aid can I expect from these schools? I just want to see if going to one of these schools is financially fathomable, let alone being able to be accepted.

Thanks!

$55,000 is not really low income, though would make you eligible for FA at the more competitive and generous universities. However, most of the more generous schools will require the non custodial parent’s financial information as well as the custodial parent’s, and will take both into account when determining FA.

Rice and WashU require the Noncustodial Profile so your dad’s income will be included in your EFC. https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet.srv</a> Vandy does not.
