Low PSAT & Stressing/Anxiety Over SAT

I’m currently a junior in hs
Even though I’m thinking about community college and then try the impossible to transfer to brown these past weeks and months I’ve been really stressing over it and having anxiety over having a low score I did not do to well on my PSAT score w/ a 750 another question I would have is how do I prep/study for the SAT and how do I get over the anxiety of taking the SAT?

Hi. Try not to stress and cause yourself anxiety. My daughter also had anlow PSAT and we panicked too. The best advice I can give you is the same advice everyone here told me and everything I read. Is to practice take practice tests simulating thenrea test environment as close as you can. Use practice sites like khan academy and college board ask teachers for help after school in areas you feel you need help. A lot of the practice is learning how to take the test learning strategies that help you with timing and the readings etc. there are books as well. I can’t remember the names but if you read through some of these other posts or even my original post there is a lot of good info. Don’t worry. You have time and if you commit and study hard you will do better.

Hey, junior here as well. Since my response is way late, no real advice for SAT/PSAT. I have some general advice though from my senior/college friends. You’re going to make it through junior year. You’re going to go to college as well, it’s just a matter of where. Take some time off if you need to and just take care of yourself. Good luck bud.

Don’t look back and look forward. PSAT is a gauge of where you are at and what you need to do to improve. Don’t get discouraged as there are too many factors involved to worry about.

Scores don’t define you. Don’t stress out too much and focus on what is attainable for you. Everything will fall into place eventually.

Don’t get bogged down. You got this! Let this serve as motivation to do well on the real exam. Study with official practice tests and work on your weaknesses.

If you have already decided to start at a community college, don’t stress about the SAT. Instead, plan how you will do well at the community college to demonstrate your abilities as a student. When you apply to transfer - whether to Brown or any other 4-year program, you performance in college will define you, not your PSAT and SAT scores. Perhaps if you go into the SAT knowing that your score doesn’t define you, and that you already qualify to attend a community college, that will allow you to do your best. Not everybody is able to score a 1600, so focus on doing your own personal best, rather than trying to reach a particular score.
