Low SAT scores?

I just looked at Princeton Review’s 2004 “351 Best Colleges” book and the middle 50% of SAT scores are 1290-1500. 1290 seems a bit low to me, especially if 25% of accepted students were below that score. What does this signify? Does it mean Brown accepts many students from disadvantaged backgrounds, or what?

i think those stats are off USNews had it at 1310-1520.

Another thing that those books do if i recall is tell u the math and vebal scores seperately. This hides the fact that some people score 800 on one section and 6__ on the other. So while it may look like 25% of the class scores below 1290, it is more likely that a significant population are just unbalanced applicants scoring in the high 13s and low 14s.
