Low SAT Subject Test Score - Penalty?

I have taken two SAT Subject Tests so far (Math 2 800, Literature 750) and I'm thinking about applying to a school that requires three. However, I have not taken classes recently in any of the other subjects except for Spanish. My Spanish skills are pretty good for taking four years of Spanish in high school, but nowhere near those of a native speaker. If I take the Spanish Subject Test, I expect to score in the mid 500s to low 600s. Will colleges recognize that I am not a native speaker and give me a break with the score? Or will I be penalized in some way for having such a low score on one of the Subject Tests?

By the way, I'm retaking the ACT w/ Writing and will mostly likely just send the ACT, score pending.

Since there are only a few colleges that still require three and those are high ranked colleges, the answer is yes a low SAT II score will be considered a negative regardless of whether it is in Spanish and you are not a native speaker. Those colleges generally expect to see SAT II's in the high range, such as above 700. Moreover, if you are also applying to high ranked colleges that require two SAT II's. a third low one could also be somewhat of a negative because some of those will consider all SAT II's sent even if they only require two (others just consider highest two).

Study for it and you'll refresh your memory pretty quickly if you were pretty good at it before.
